Experience Luxury and History at this Hotel in Normandy

Do you love history? How about visiting World War II sites and staying in the heart of it all in Normandy? If the answer is "yes" to both, then you must stay at DDay Aviators. As mentioned in my "10 Must-Visit D-Day Sites in Normandy" blog post, this bed and breakfast is located in Arromanches-les-Bains near Gold Beach. I found this accommodation when I searched for places to stay on the Delta Vacations website, and I'm SO thankful we went with it.

The couple that owns DDay Aviators has been collecting WWII items for over 20 years. They finally decided one day what to do with them: Put them on display at a bed and breakfast for visitors to see when they visit the D-Day sites in Normandy. Each hotel room has a story and theme, and the owner will give you a tour of all the items around the hotel. It's really unbelievable how much they have. The knowledge they have of all the history is quite interesting to listen to, it was almost like getting a sneak peek back into the 1940s. I should also note the personalized breakfast was so cute and delicious!

Down the street from the hotel you'll find the D-Day Museum, Mulberry Harbour and its remnants of the beach landings, and lots of restaurants and shops. We obviously loved the hotel for what it was, but this was also a perfect location. It was somewhat in the middle of all the beaches which made ideal for breaking up the trip over the 1.5 days we were there.
